At ReelCap, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our service.

Video Content

Your video file is never uploaded to or stored on our servers. Processing happens in your browser: still frames are captured from the video and, where a video has audio, an audio track is extracted. Only those frames and that audio are sent for analysis. The video file itself stays on your device.

Frames and audio are used solely to generate your caption. They are not stored by us and are not used to train any model. See Service Providers below for the companies that process them on our behalf.

Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

• Account Information: Email address and password when you create an account
• Business Information: Business details you provide such as business name, phone number, and website URL are stored securely in your account
• Caption History: Generated captions may be stored in your user history for your convenience
• Usage Data: Information about how you use ReelCap, including features used and videos processed

Payment Information

All payment information is processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your credit card details on our servers. Stripe handles all payment processing in compliance with PCI DSS standards.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and improve our caption generation service
• Process payments and manage your subscription
• Send important service updates and communications
• Respond to your support requests
• Analyze usage patterns to improve the product

Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

• Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights

Service Providers

We use the following providers to operate ReelCap. Each receives only what it needs to perform its function, and none is permitted to use your content for its own purposes.

• Anthropic: Receives video frames and caption context to generate captions. Accessed through the Vercel AI Gateway.
• OpenAI: Receives extracted audio to produce a transcript used for caption accuracy.
• Supabase: Stores your account, business details, and caption history.
• Vercel: Hosts the application and handles request processing.
• Stripe: Processes payments. Card details go directly to Stripe and never reach our servers.
• Microsoft Clarity: Records how the site is used, including page interactions, clicks, and scrolling, so we can find and fix usability problems. Text entered into form fields is masked by default and is not recorded. Clarity does not load at all until you accept it in the cookie banner, and you can change that choice at any time using the "Cookie choices" link in the footer.

This list may change as the service evolves. We will update this page when it does.

Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information. Business information entered by users is stored securely. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your account and personal data
• Opt out of marketing communications

Data Deletion

Users may request deletion of their data at any time by contacting support. Upon request, we will delete your account information, business details, and caption history within 30 days. Some records may be retained where required by law, for example transaction records needed for tax and accounting purposes.

We use essential cookies to maintain your session and remember your preferences. We use standard analytics tools to understand how you use our service. You can control cookie settings in your browser.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through the service. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
